Cookie policy
Last updated: 15 September 2026
LANScan24 sets one cookie. It remembers which button you pressed on the cookie banner. There are no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies and no third-party cookies of any kind on this site.
The complete cookie inventory
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Category | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|---|
ls_consent |
lanscan24.life (first party) | Holds the value accepted or essential so the banner is
not shown again on every page you open. |
Strictly necessary | 12 months |
That is the entire list. The cookie holds a single word, no identifier and nothing that
could be tied to you, and it is sent only to this domain
(SameSite=Lax, path /).
No cookie is written and no third-party request is made until you press a button on the banner. Reading the site without answering leaves no trace in your browser.
What each button actually changes
| Essential only | Accept | |
|---|---|---|
ls_consent cookie | Set to essential | Set to accepted |
| Analytics / advertising | None | None — there are none to enable |
| Third-party requests | Zero. Every byte comes from this domain. | Google Fonts stylesheet and font files are requested |
| Typefaces | Fonts already installed on your device | Inter and JetBrains Mono from Google Fonts |
| Content and features | Identical | Identical |
The only practical difference is which fonts render. Nothing is gated, hidden or degraded behind "Accept", and the site is designed to look right either way.
Why Google Fonts needs consent at all
Requesting a file from fonts.googleapis.com sends your IP address and user agent
to Google. That is a disclosure of personal data to a third party even though no cookie is
involved, so we ask first rather than assume. Choosing "Essential only" means that request is
never made — the site stays entirely first-party.
Changing or withdrawing your choice
Select Cookie settings in the footer of any page. That deletes the
ls_consent cookie and brings the banner back, so you can choose again. Consent is
as easy to withdraw as it was to give.
You can also clear the cookie yourself from your browser's site-data settings, or block cookies for this domain entirely — the site works normally with cookies blocked, the banner will simply appear on each visit.
What about local storage?
We do not use localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB, service
workers or any other client-side storage mechanism. The consent cookie is the only thing this
site writes to your browser.
